Escorted Shopping
Every Monday a minibus with hydraulic lift takes up to nine clients shopping. Clients are picked up from their homes from 9.15 a.m. and return home by 1.30 p.m.
The escorted Shopping Scheme is part of our commitment to promote independent living and social inclusion. It enables clients to do their own shopping and choose exactly what they want - including the bargains! – with help on hand if needed.
Currently Morrison, Chingford and Sainsbury, Newbury Park are visited alternately.
There are volunteer escorts on the bus available to push a wheelchair, help with shopping and packing and carry shopping to the client’s door.
After shopping we all meet in the cafeteria for a hot drink and maybe a snack.
This service is only open to residents living in the IG10 postcode.
