LVC is happy to hear from any individuals, families or professionals about our Good Neighbour scheme. This matches volunteers with clients based on shared interests, the individual’s needs, and the volunteers’ motivation and availability.

After an initial meeting, arranged by our Good Neighbour Section Leader, a volunteer will visit a client regularly, usually weekly. As with all LVC services, this scheme is for residents of IG10 only. Our volunteers have completed a DBS (old CRB police check). They are not usually car drivers, but may well be prepared to escort clients, using a taxi.

How to Access this Service:
Clients may be referred to us by social services, health services or other professional bodies, but families can also contact us direct if they want to arrange Good Neighbour visits. Individuals can also refer themselves. When making referrals please complete the form as fully as possible. When requesting a Good Neighbour it is particularly important to give information about any medical conditions and hobbies and interests as this helps us match clients users and volunteers
